Optical Communication Coupling

High-speed automatic fiber alignment, coupling and dispensing

Coupling a laser precisely into single-mode fiber for efficient optical signal transmission is the core process across optical communication, laser manufacturing and optical sensing. The Akribis high-speed auto-coupling solution embeds the alignment algorithm in the controller firmware, running high-speed motion and optical-power acquisition together and auto-locating the optimal coupling and dispensing point as soon as each scan completes. It replaces the traditional host-stitched motion-then-acquire workflow, and 200G / 400G / 800G / 1.6T FA and lens coupling are already in volume production.

APPLICATION VISUAL

Why Agito

60%+ faster alignment

Motion control and optical-power acquisition run synchronously in firmware, eliminating host communication delay and shortening the development cycle.

Nanometer-class stability

Static jitter within ±10 nm and 30 ms settling (±25 nm window); 16-bit ADC at 0.1 mV resolution with ±0.3 mV input noise.

Flexible scan strategies

Spiral, zigzag and spiral-square raster scans, with firmware function hooks for customer-specific coupling algorithms.

Proven in the market

200G / 400G / 800G / 1.6T FA and lens coupling deployed at volume, with clear advantages in multi-channel COB and CPO coupling.

Performance

Coarse scan (spiral)5 µm, 10-turn spiral in 0.9 s
Fine scan (traversal)±20 µm, 1000 data points in 0.65 s
Fine scan (hill-climb)±20 µm peak search in 0.55 s
Alignment efficiency65%+ average improvement vs. conventional methods
