Closed loop force control with automatic position/force switching

Smooth transitions from high-speed motion to a low-speed contact search, then automatic switching to force or current mode to press with a multi-step or ramp force profile — returning to position mode to retract at high speed once complete. The controller achieves high-accuracy closed-loop force control at 16 kHz using a force-sensor input, or the built-in high-resolution current feedback when no sensor is used. Common in semiconductor die-attach, pick-and-place, and glass/touch-panel processing.
